Tips to Wash Our Hands


We need to wash our hands to prevent spreading of diseases

When to Wash Hands?

·         After changing diapers
·         After handling debris
·         After sneezing, coughing, or blowing the nose
·         After touching an animal or its waste
·         After using the bathroom
·         Before and after fixing contact lenses
·         Before and after preparing food
·         Before and after touching a patient
·         Before and after treating wounds
·         Before and after handling food
·         Before and after eating

How to Wash Hands?

·         Use soap and water or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer
·         If your hands are dirty and greasy, use warm or hot water.

Steps to clean or wash hands:

·         Wet your hands with clean water (if possible, using clean and warm water)
·         Apply soap
·         Lather by rubbing hands together, covering all surfaces.
·         Rub both palms together. Let your fingers be interlaced some time and don’t interlaced some time.
·         Rub the back of one hand with the palm of the other with fingers interlaced. Repeat this using the other hand.
·         Scrub your palms using the tips of fingers.
·         Rinse the hands thoroughly in running water
·         Dry the hands using paper towels or an air dryer.

Cumin seeds are called Seerakam or Jeeragam in Tamil, Jeera or zeera in Hindi. It is also called cumin, Cuminum cyminum. In Sanskrit, Cumin is known as Jira. It means, “that which helps digestion". Cumin has spicy flavour. It is used in the preparation of soups, curries, sauces, etc.




·         Cumin acts as medicine, spice and food. It is used in many home remedies.

·         Drinking warm cumin water rehydrates and refreshes the body.

·         It helps in enhancing appetite and relieving digestive disorders.

·         It provides relief from breathing difficulties.

·         It improves breast feeding in lactating mothers.

·         It manages the blood sugar level in the blood.

·         It helps in treating the anemia.

·         It acts as a good bronchodilator. It reduces inflammations and used in the treatment fighting asthma.

·         It is a good anti-oxidant which fights with the free radicals in the body and enhances the body immunity to fights with infections.

·         It maintains menstrual cycle.

·         Soak a teaspoonful of cumin in a tumbler (glass) of water throughout the night and drink it in morning. It relieves bloating, acidity and abdominal gas.

·         Jeera water clears up the respiratory passage by diluting mucous in chest.

·         Taking cumin water with ginger soothes the sore throat.
